Product of Grace - Kimberly L. Scott

What do you do when you find yourself stuck in the lemon grove of life? Some people turn sour and bitter. An overcomer makes lemonade. Meet author and faithpreneur Kimberly L. Scott or “KimVincible” as her readers are calling her these days. She’s an overcomer that keeps it moving. A battle-tested woman that refused to lose in life, Kim found her personal strength through unwavering faith in God.

Q: So, when did you realize that your testimony was book worthy?
A: Well, I remember when I was a little girl at church, the Lord spoke to my heart during service. The Lord said, "The words of your life will be written on paper." At the time, I had no idea what He meant. Then in my adulthood, years after living a very fast-paced and promiscuous lifestyle, I began to reflect on the many times the Lord spared my life. Finally one day, I came to myself and realized that God had been too good to sit on my testimony any longer. On that day, I started writing.

Q: How did you keep getting back up when life knocked you down?
A: By constant prayer, determination and faith in the Lord.

Q: What's your go to scripture for a crisis?
A: Psalm 116:1-13

Q: What's on the horizon for Kim Scott?
A: I'm currently writing two other books God's giving me that are related to the ministry, I'm writing gospel songs, and I also plan on working on obtaining a degree in theology, as the Lord leads.

Q: What song do you use to set your worship atmosphere?
A: I love listening to Fred Hammond's 'Mender of a Broken Heart.'

Q: Tell me about a sermon/message that changed the course of your life, and why?
A: When I was a backslider, I heard a minister speaking about the goodness of God, and how God still loved us even through our mess. It pricked my heart, and I decided to rededicate my life to Christ.

Q: Any advice to younger women that have suffered, and are going through some of the things you’ve encountered?
A: I would to tell them to keep Isaiah 54:5 close to their hearts, "For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called." People can and will let us down. That is why it is essential for our identity to be rooted in Christ. Men will let us down, but God's love is unfailing.

Q: How do you deal with your singleness in and outside of church?
A: A lot of prayer. I acknowledge God's purposeful call on my life and discuss boundaries before there is even a first date with someone. After I discuss my boundaries, there usually isn't a first date anyway, but it's okay! I believe God is protecting me for the mate designed for me, who doesn't want to take short cuts.

Once Kim awoke to the reality that she, like Mary J. Blige, was also searching for real love in all the wrong places, she decided to go home to God. Here’s an exclusive peek between the covers of this must-read real-talk memoir of trial, tribulation and triumph.

PRODUCT OF GRACE excerpt

Yet after experiencing both rapes, I began to question
the Lord Himself in the privacy of my heart. I wondered why
God allowed these events to happen, especially since I
attempted to make a change for the better. Why did you let this
happen, Lord? Wasn’t I trying to change?

I negligently failed to realize that God already provided a way of escape for me (1 Corinthians 10:13) by telling me not to date these men to
begin with. I also failed to realize that He does not tempt us
with evil (James 1:13).

Of course, this is not to say that rape in general is the
victim’s fault. Neither is this to say that if a woman is raped,
that she sinned before God. I knew of a Christian woman
who was raped by a complete stranger, with no fault of her
own. I can only speak of my own experiences because with
both of my attacks, the voice of the Lord warned me not to be
in the company of these men. Both times, I disobeyed out of
my own, stubborn freewill.

Being deceived, my heart began to get hardened and
embedded with resentment as I willfully distanced myself
farther from the Father than I have ever been before in my life.
I was thoroughly determined to rebel from the voice of the
Lord and do my own thing.

I reasoned in my heart, “If sex is
going to keep being forced upon me, then I might as well
embrace and enjoy it.” From that moment, I boldly became a
self-proclaimed ‘Professional Backslider.’ The pain of the
abuse became the impetus of a promiscuous lifestyle.

However, Isaiah 45:9 (KJV) warns,
“Woe unto him that striveth his Maker! Let the potsherd
strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that
fashioneth it, what makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?”

KEEPING IT MOVING

Kimberly L. Scott found herself at the well of life many times. After spending time as a prodigal daughter she was en route to returning home to the Lord, when she was savagely raped twice. Embittered and angry with God, she embraced the darkness of her pain dubbing herself a ‘professional backslider’. Losing her footing in life, she took a downward spiral into promiscuity, bisexuality, porn addiction, drugs, alcohol and violence. Life took her in many directions

At her bottom, she found herself faced with prostitution. Granted God’s grace, she reclaimed her spiritual heritage under the anointed leadership of Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer of Faithful Central Bible Church in Inglewood, CA. Back in the fold, she became engaged to a minister and found her destiny delayed when illness suddenly threatened her life. Having stumbled, fallen, got up and dusted herself off over and over again this overcomer is ready to share her lived-and-learned testimony with “Product of Grace” to inspire and empower others, like you.

Kimberly L. Scott currently resides in her hometown of Los Angeles, CA with her family. She enjoys living a quiet, peaceful lifestyle working on her artwork, songwriting and poetry as she continues to let God direct her next steps answering her call into ministry.

Kanye Goes to Metox @ Last!!!

Here's Kayne's ALL CAPS response on his blog.

NOTE TO KANYE: An ALL CAPS blog is still obnoxious. CAPS are only to be used to make a specific item standout. If you think every single syllable you tweet and type should be ALL CAPS you definitely have some work to do in METOX. I pray that you continue to "get over yourself."

Oh, and dude please STOP endorsing those DAMN skinny jeans your entourage loves to rock its looks very Christopher Street (see how I used those ALL CAPS). Real men will never embrace androgyny no matter how catchy the soundtrack is. In the hood, we've implemented a new term to replace "no homo" are you ready... "no Kanye". So, "get over yourself" fast homie.

And, "You're so DOPE Kanye." I said that, because I know you were probably having an ego meltdown if you're reading this... Which I know you are strangely enough (smile).

Now, if South Park could just put Officer Ricky...ooops, Rick Ross on blast and make him "get over" himself so much would be right in the world.

He's really embarrassing himself bad. He's right his issues are 'deeper than rap' they need therapy. Somebody please give this brother a METOX today! Puh-leeze.

Oh, almost forgot: Officer Ricky, the hood also has a term for guys that claim to be the "boss" love to floss and treat the mothers of their children like dental floss - stop rossin'
